Oliktok Natural Gas
The Oliktok Pipeline (OPL) begins adjacent to the BP Operated Skid 50 near TAPS Pump Station 1 (PS1). The OPL transports natural gas liquids from Prudhoe Bay to Kuparuk Central Processing Facility 1 (CPF-1) to support operations. Kuparuk Pipeline (KPL) and OPL share the same horizontal and vertical supports between CPF-1 and PS1. OPL crosses the Kuparuk River floodplain and various tributaries as well as Central Milne Creek, East Creek, Sakonowyak River and the Putuligayak River. In 1984, when the new 24-inch KPL was laid, the original KPL was converted to OPL, which now carries natural gas liquids from PS 1 (Skid-50) back to CPF-1.
