Geothermal Exploration Data Request
Summary
Ormat Nevada, Inc. (Ormat), a wholly owned subsidiary of Ormat Technologies, Inc., performed geothermal exploration work on State of Alaska-issued geothermal leases between 2009-2011. On September 10, 2008, Ormat was the successful high bidder on 15 Mt Spurr geothermal tracts. Between 2009-2011 Ormat performed geothermal exploration work on these 15 tracts, which resulted in Ormat drilling three geothermal wells. On January 4, 2012, Ormat submitted to the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas 40.5 GB of Mt Spurr geothermal exploration data collected between 2009-2011. At that time Ormat requested the submitted data be held confidential. On September 11, 2018, Ormat granted permission to the Division of Oil and Gas to release the 40.5 GB geothermal exploration data submittal. Ormat’s geothermal exploration data collected at Mt Spurr between 2009-2011 is available to the public using the request form below.
