Reporting Data Checks and Math Checks
(current as of November, 2016)
The accompanying table and narratives document the data checks that occur when processing Royalty and NPSL reports. These checks can vary from report to report depending on the items that are reported. They are however, systematic. So if a code or math combination is added you can expect there to be an accompanying data check installed to ensure that the data is reported with a valid code, in the right format, combination and sums properly within the report.
When the DOGMA system is fully implemented data checks will be made available as a list report so that new ones can be added with some form of notice that there has been a new addition to the list. Again the intent with data checks is to ensure that reports have a high degree of quality control on the data reported such that the data is valid and legible. This is better to ensure that erroneous coding, formats or items are caught before or at the time of filing so that they can be corrected more expeditiously than having to file a revision later.
